About the role:
In the context of an engineering led company, the Head of Engineering Systems has a critical role in supporting the profitable growth of JCB. This role sits on the IT Leadership Team and has responsibility for defining and delivering on a strategic vision for the exploitation of engineering systems across JCB, leading the IT engagement with engineering stakeholders and operational running and development of key systems.
What does this role involve day to day?
· Define and deliver the vision and strategy for the use of engineering systems within JCB, informed by strategic business priorities such as accelerating the innovation cycle and reducing parts complexity
·Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the global Engineering function (esp. UK and India), including Group Engineering Director and Chief Category Engineers
· Provide inspirational leadership for the Engineering Systems team and more broadly across the Group IT function
· Manage the PLM applications and their lifecyle, shape and deliver the development roadmap in alignment with Engineering priorities
· Seek out and adopt new technologies (inc. support for the digital thread, simulation tools, AI) to support business objectives
· Develop and maintain Engineering Systems annual budget (including licence management)
· Manage key vendors to ensure optimal delivery for JCB
This will be suited to you if
· You have experience in a senior leadership position and can demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills
· You have a focus on business outcomes and the delivery of business value
· You have significant demonstrable PLM experience, preferably Siemens PLM suite (NX and Teamcentre), applications management and development
· You have experience of simulation tools (e.g. Altair, Simcentre), understanding of VR tools (e.g. NX VR)
· You have experience of managing an operational budget
· You have negotiating and problem-solving skills
· You are collaborative and encourage collaboration in your team and beyond
