About the role:
Inventory Accuracy is the cornerstone of a functioning MRP system and has a big impact on ability to achieve the production plan. The Inventory Analyst is a pivotal role to ensuring stock accuracy, investigation, reconciliation of inventory adjustments and advising on inventory improvement activities. To that end you will be responsible for overseeing Perpetual Inventory count routines, status and results and ensuring compliance with group and external audit requirements whilst supporting the business with its inventory reduction and accuracy activities.
What does this role involve day to day?
Plan –
• Create the Perpetual Inventory cycle count plan for on-site and off-site stock – and where off-site work with our 3PLs to create that plan.
• Measure key inventory figures and ensure appropriate treatment of stock variances.
Monitor –
• Monitor achievement and effectiveness of the cycle count plan on-site and off-site. Feedback and enact any recommendations for change in process as a result of achievement and effectiveness.
• Report and assess stock accuracy weekly and cumulative.
• Assess trends in part number / commodity stock accuracy to understand any changes needed to parameters, BoM, physical handling controls or supplier delivery conformance.
• Be the point of contact for both internal and external auditing processes.
Reconcile –
• Supervise and conduct reconciliation activity and categorise reasons for stock inaccuracy.
Train –
• Train all effected populations in process countermeasures to avoid inventory in failed categories such as Quarantine, COGI, Parked.
Strategic –
• Be the process expert for all strategic projects where inventory reduction or transfer plans need to be enacted.
• Conduct the analysis, perform all data changes and stock transfer as support to the strategic project.
• Lead on group inventory reporting – creation of budget and monitor to budget. Advise on actions required to improve reporting and improve inventory value.
This will be suited to you
• Extensive knowledge of SAP and desire to learn SAP transactions is essential.
• Highly PC literate
• Good analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills - Able to make complex processes easy to understand in order to make a difference in process compliance
• Well organised
• Influencing Skills for people who are both under direct leadership and people who you have no executive authority.
