About the role:
Located within the JCB Group Logistics Team, Cheadle, we are a unique central JCB function managing warehousing and International Supply chain for all UK manufacturing business units. Where up to 60 containers are managed, delivered and offloaded each day into our new state of the art Warehouse. You will be working in a fast-paced team environment in an engaging role with a difference. Liaising closely with key stakeholders of the business and the Lead Logistics Partner to ensure that the supply of materials meets the production schedule. The role offers great potential for personal development and the ability to progress your career within JCB.
What does this role involve day to day?
· Schedule components to meet production requirements whilst maintaining minimal safety stock levels.
· Manage risks to minimise impact on production schedule. Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement.
· Generate and communicate supplier material delivery schedules and forecasts to ensure they reflect requirements and meet demands
· Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries made on time
· Resolve supplier concerns and evaluate supplier performance
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
· Understand vessel schedules and impacts
· Work collaboratively with the Lead Logistics Partner.
· Bring ideas for change
This will be suited to you if you have
· Understanding of container management
· Ability to work under pressure.
· Able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
· Experience of strategic material planning in a fast-paced environment.
· SAP experience preferred
· Excel Intermediate - Essential
· Sound ERP/MRP understanding
· Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
· Excellent attention to detail
· Assertive, optimistic, resilient and welcome change
· Results orientated and organised with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
