About the role:

With ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years, we need a capable individual to provide a key support role to the product marketing function of the backhoe loader division. The role requires a product orientated individual with strong business acumen that also has an understanding of construction industry. As a world market leader, it is essential we develop our products to meet the changing needs of the industry and our customers’ requirements and ensure that we stay ahead of the competition. An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Product Marketing Specialist within the Backhoe Loader (BHL) Division, reporting to the Global Product Marketing Manager - BHL Global Business Growth. The Product Marketing Specialist role is a key position within the BHL Division and is an integral part of driving product growth.

What does this role involve day to day?

• Be the technical specialist and point of contact for our global manufacturing / product teams

• Support all aspects of marketing as part of the new product introduction process (NPI)

• Capture the voice of the customer / regional requirements - feed into the NPI process to develop the product range to better serve the needs of the customer

• Produce creative briefs and conduct photography / video shoots to support marketing materials

• Conduct market and competitor research to identify new market and product opportunities

• Carry out competitor benchmarking and content generation for sell against materials

• Produce relevant training materials and provide regional training support

• Provide industry application knowledge and be the subject matter expert for BHL applications

• Carry out machine installations and conduct product demonstrations

• Communication / PR to promote the JCB BHL product to the wider sales teams

• Support customer evaluations, visits and factory tours

• Conduct profitability analysis by product and by region to identify areas for improvement / focus

This will be suited to you if

• You have an understanding of the product marketing function with the ability to construct, analyse and present business cases, for which experience with Microsoft Excel is essential

• You have a good appreciation for the construction industry and associated sectors / applications, with a strong interest in product marketing

• You’re a strong team player with the ability to communicate at all levels across the business

• You act as a company ambassador and also be willing to travel worldwide when required, although the position will be based at the World Headquarters, Rocester, Staffordshire

• You are degree qualified in Engineering, Product Marketing, Business or equivalent although this is not necessary

• You’re self-motivated with a sense of urgency and a keen attention to detail
