About the role:
We’re looking for a highly capable Control Room Operator to join our dedicated Security Control Room team based at JCB World Headquarters. The Control Room plays a critical role in supporting not only Rocester but all UK JCB sites, the Daylesford Estate, various family properties, and Daylesford Organic facilities including the Farm Shop, Abbatoir, and retail locations.
You’ll be responsible for monitoring complex security operations across these sites, ensuring the safety and security of our people, assets, and facilities. The role demands strong communication skills, the ability to make sound decisions under pressure, and a proactive, professional approach at all times.
This is a 24/7 operation working 12‑hour shifts on a 4‑on, 4‑off pattern. Ideally, you’ll have experience operating CCTV systems and hold an SIA CCTV Licence and/or Door Supervisor Licence, although this is not essential for all candidates.
What does this role involve day to day?
· Monitoring CCTV systems across multiple JCB and Daylesford sites
· Conducting CCTV reviews and investigations
· Handling high volumes of telephone and intercom calls professionally and courteously
· Receiving, assessing, and responding to intruder and fire alarm activations
· Prioritising and deploying Security Officers based on real-time needs
· Accurate logging and recording of all incidents and occurrences
· Writing detailed incident reports
· Overseeing the security operation across all UK sites to maintain a consistent and safe environment
· Ensuring the safety and welfare of all Security Officers on duty
· Maintaining strict compliance with Data Protection and GDPR policies
· Carrying out additional frontline security duties as required
This will be suited to you if…
· You’re an excellent communicator who remains calm and professional under pressure
· You enjoy working as part of a team and supporting others
· You have experience working with CCTV systems (desirable)
· You’re computer literate and confident navigating multiple systems
· You understand Data Protection and GDPR requirements
· You can make important decisions quickly and effectively
· You have a background in security (preferred but not essential)
· You ideally hold an SIA CCTV and/or Door Supervisor Licence (desirable, not essential)
· You’re comfortable working 12‑hour shifts, including days, nights, and weekends
